For the 1st time, I am opening my studio to classes of small groups. You will receive private instruction, among your friends, in a custom workshop developed especially for your interests! 4 people, $100 each. Includes all supplies and access to tons of my cool stuff, cause I like to share and I’ve got way more than I could use. Here’s how it works: Get together a group of 4 people. Find a day that is good for all of you. It will be a 10am-4pm session; any day of the week is fine with me. Call or email first if you want to confirm availability and discuss class agenda. Once we know it’s a Go, I need payment via check or credit card. Suggested Class Topics (one per session): Collage-explore a variety of techniques on paper or canvas. Painting-play with mixed media abstracts on clayboard. Decorative Papers-learn new techniques and paint papers and tissues all day long. Plus suggested projects to use your new papers. What You Get: A personalized workshop among friends. All you need to do is come on over with a sack lunch. I’ll have drinks. I’ll have supplies. I’ll have handouts so you have reference material to keep. Feel free to bring any of your own stuff that you may want to incorporate into your art. And bring your personal scissors or brushes or tools you may want (or not, that’s fine with me too). Mainly, I want to provide a low stress environment where we can all s-p-r-e-a-d -o-u-t (I’ve got room), get messy and PLAY!!!! P.S. If you have another idea for a class, want to do an evening event or party, let me know. I’m flexible and open to any fun idea!

| Artfest 2008
SOLD OUT April 2-6, 2008 Exploring the Abstract Using claybord as our base, we will paint abstract mixed media pieces that can function as the beginning of a body of work. Each student will emerge with the first four paintings in their new “series.” Suitable for any level painter, the mystery of abstraction becomes approachable when explored through experimentation and play. To begin, we will first carve a
textured background on claybord and then learn how to layer multiple
media such as ink, pastel, acrylic, marker and collage materials. We
will consider important elements such as color, composition and line
through examination of both geometric and organic styles. The final
result will be a cohesive group of small abstracts, along with many new
skills that can be applied to all your mixed media creations. |
